An Open Letter To Medium Writers, Staff, Editors, Chief Executives, and Founder Ev Williams
I say all of this with the utmost respect and gratitude and I hope you’ll at a bare minimum have enough respect for me to at least read this letter from a writer and reader who has supported your platform for years.
While I made a public vow, both to myself and this platform as a whole to no longer publish articles or posts on this app or site trashing it or complaining about it in an unprofessional manner — this is by no means that.
Yes, my primary purpose for writing this is to express not just my frustrations with this platform and what it’s become compared to what it could have been, but also to express my gratitude for Medium altogether.
Not just the readers and supporters of the extensive body of work I’ve homed and honed here, but also the writers, editors, and publications who rightfully shined in Medium’s happier days and simpler times and put out the stories that inspired me to do my damnedest to put out work as good as theirs, along with having it reach the masses theirs did and in some cases still do.
