Yes, with one of the companies I was hired as an Office Manager but took on more of an advisory role than a management. I didn’t have an official title but it was more of a working consultant role than a management one.
I realized my strengths were more in these advisory and decision making roles and I suppose others did as well because that was the role I ended up playing in the future for two other companies also.
