I’d recommend posting to Medium consistently even if you want to publish your posts on your blog as well.

Building an audience here on Medium is far easier than doing so on your own site. Plus, you could leave links back to your blog at the bottom of your Medium posts and potentially grow your blogs audience simultaneously. Medium has a link feature you can use to take them directly to it, this way you don’t have to hope they’ll be willing to copy and paste it — which most people won’t do.
