I have a friend who is a recovering addict. He once shared a story with me, of a heroin relapse of his.

He told me he was down and out, with no sense of hope to speak of and two bags of heroin in his pocket.

He was already high and had been using puddle water to shoot up his heroin with.

A dude he knew came up and offered him three xanax. His exact response?

“Get them the fuck away from me, that drug is dangerous”.

Xanax turns people into shells of themselves. I’ve talked to multiple people who have said, stealing is essentially a side effect of taking them. The DEA’s classification system is a a joke.

Great article though, thanks for this. And I’d definitely be interested in the book.
