Julia, you took a 6 word figure of speech far too literally. Obviously not all little girls want or dream of having the same things.
Times are changing you're right, for the worse. Every word gets twisted, taken out of context or taken in a way someone can find insulting or demeaning on behalf of whatever group, gender or etc.
