On Integrity

3 min readMay 20, 2025

integrity is best defined by what we do when nobody’s watching. I don’t disagree, but I’d like to add to it as well. because betraying those who’ve been nothing but loyal to you their literal entire life, to their face, is not integrity. Betrayal and integrity didn’t grow up in the same household. They have different codes of honor which is one stands tall in theirs and the other has none. Integrity, is taking all of that on the chin, and still never exposing this anti definition of integrity for who they are. Still never waging any kind of blowback or offensive. Not even getting defensive, just hurt.

Integrity isn’t just about what you do when nobody’s watching, conversely, its also what you don’t do when nobody’s watching.

It’s not so much as what we don’t do in the ln the light, but more about what we don’t do in the dark. It’s been said how some people do anything, is how they do everything. While I almost vehemently disagree in an overtly manner, I get the point, surely a he first spoke it.

I hope I’m wrong but its statistically doubtful. I’m not a betting man but when I am I lay 3 sport 7 leg parlays with money I don’t have to mullygag around with you know?

But it ain’t the whisper you hear on a quiet night that determines ones integrity, we all hear the wolf, I like to believe the preinstalled integrity version of the wolf just wins most peoples battles with the other wolf within them more times than not anyhow, atleast where it counts. Integrity is the difference between that we let pass and those we never let pass up, no matter who it causes or costs what, especially ourselves.

It’s the sacrifices we make for who and what matters to us, especially and maybe even without fail, when you don’t want to most. Because the truth is aside from your health, your loved ones and a few good family members or two dozen of them, especially those who aren’t even actually blood but you’d enjoy life less wthout them in it, and will always be family to you, are all any of us have that actually matters.

Stories get told about people who did, the hard things and the right things because integrity often makes sure those two are a package deal.

They get passed down with a sense of pride of our peoples past and the hope it might inspire future generations to be Just as great, at whatever collective history, the majority of human beings in general and me personally considered some of the folks I speak of,very non specifically. Because great is hard to nail down for certain, especially in this climit. But integrity, that’s what the best person you can think of when you hear that phrase is doing at most points in time, by definition. And default. I may not be tipping over the top with integrity throughout more encounters in my life than I care to recount, but I’ve also never been who I said I wasn’t nor vice versa. Just saying.
