Some Thoughts On Personal Growth And The Company We Keep Around Us.

I promise, not everyone you love is rooting for you, thankfully everyone who truly loves you is.

Sometimes you only have three choices in who you become to the people around you, depending on who you and those people are. But regardless, our choices are often as follows.

You stay the same, never evolving. You're doing the same thing on your 35th birthday that you did on your 25th. The people that truly love you, eventually slowly but surely distance themselves from you, out of necessity for their own growth. They grew, you didn't.
You become the burden, embarrassment, or simply a person they once knew but no longer really have room for. You end up around people just like you, or maybe even a few notches under you, so you can feel like the most successful, unhappy person in the room. I mean even degenerates need leadership. Good luck. You'll need it.

You grow and evolve. You're not who you were last year, nevermind ten years ago. You don't even think about ten years ago unless it's to measure how far you've come since because the only person you're trying to do better than, is who you were.
