These Last 365 Days Were a Ride I’m Almost Half Surprised I Survived

Let’s see, where do I start. Where do I or we ever start? About a year ago I was half managing a Dollar store part time, hating everything about it and everything else around it in my life as well, and it all eventually turned to shit as it so often does in life.

Whatever, life’s too short to fret. In some cases maybe one day I’ll send flowers as a way as trying to make proper amends, in others I’ll let sleeping dogs lie, like the great Christopher Moltisanti once decided it might be to in some instances upon leaving rehab with the even greater Tony Soprano listening to him say so.

I’m pretty sure I had freshly entered the anger stage of grief, of losing my best friend barely six months prior at the time, I just didn’t know it yet.

But apparently,the world was about to.

And every day when I went to work, customers and my coworkers who played political games of game of thrones proportions for a dollar an hour raise and a new title, made me angrier.

I made twelve dollars an hour, as a manager. And that’s the job they might have literally slit a…
