We Should Have Listened to Certain Legendary Artists Who Passed Away Tragically Young More Carefully and What They Were Telling Us in Their Music All Along

We’re not responsible for their passing or the circumstances that ended up taking some of the best, decades before their time — but maybe we can learn from it and do better from here on out before we unnecessarily lose another legend in their prime — when they’re so young they’ve hardly lived.

I bought the first Linkin Park Album, Hybrid Theory, very shortly after it dropped. An instant classic that very few would put up a sustainable argument against me saying so. I was 13 when the album hit shelves, and I’ve never been one of those people who believe if I primarily listen to a certain kind or genre of music I grew up with, that I can’t like, relate to or respect and genuinely enjoy something of its almost polar opposite, regardless of who it’s by, what they look like or what kind of music they consider themselves to be a part of. Either they have something to say, in a unique, captivating, or original way— if not all three — with music of their choosing behind it that’s at bare minimum…
