Well I should be clear that it’s important to respect other people’s opinions, while not allowing them to dictate our actions — if that makes any sense.

As far as insecurity goes, that’s something all humans struggle with on a day to day basis, I think anyway.

In terms of it as a writer and for me specifically, I’ve found the more relentlessly I pursue it and the more I do it, the more success I find. Other people’s opinions slowly but surely begin to change as you find more success.

For me personally, people took notice and began to take it more seriously when I started making money.

Great, they take me more seriously. I would have kept writing regardless. I’ll respectfully listen if anyone wants to voice their opinion on what it is I’m doing but I won’t allow it to change what I’m doing.
